- 1. Introduction
- ======================================================================
-
- WebCopier is a powerful offline browser that downloads Web sites and
- stores them locally. It gives you instant access to critical Web sites
- at any time, regardless of where you are. WebCopier performs precise
- links searching, including JavaScript parsing, it can download up to 100
- files simultaneously and print entire Web site or only specific part of
- it. WebCopier supports proxy servers, allows to specify account name
- and password to access secure Web sites. Advanced features include
- website preview, SSL (HTTPS) support, Agent Identification, scheduler,
- templates, URL and file filters, wizards, ability to resume download,
- dialer, Shockwave files support, different language modules.
-
-
- ======================================================================
- 2. Installation
- ======================================================================
-
- To install WebCopier:
-
- - If you have downloaded file named "wcopier.exe", just run it.

- 3. Release Notes
- ======================================================================
-
-
- WebCopier 2.2 New features:
- ===========================
-
- - Pause the download
- Now you can pause the download by pressing "Pause" button. The program first
- will finish copying of the files it's downloading at this moment, and then will
- pause the download and wait for you to resume or stop it.
-
- - Can save files in one directory
- By default WebCopier stores the downloaded files by keeping the original website
- directory structure. If website has files in more than one directory, the same
- directories will be created on your disk. If you don't like it, you can tell the
- program ("Project Settings / Advanced / Other" window) to ignore the website
- directory structure and store all downloaded files in one place.
-
- - Allows to change website default file name
- When a HTML link does not include file name (for example "www.somesite.com"),
- WebCopier assigns the "default.htm" name to the starting page, because web
- server doesn't tell the actual name of the starting page. Now you can assign a
- different name to the starting website page in "Project Settings / Advanced /
- Other" window.
-
- - Improved Connection Wizard
- The Wizard now can automatically find the proxy server settings, if you are
- using it.
-
- - Integrated browser messages
- The Integrated browser messages now are shown in the program Status line. For
- example, when the mouse cursor goes over a html link in the browser, the Status
- line shows that address.
-
- - Integrated browser Offline mode
- It helps to block online advertisement when you are viewing downloaded files in
- the Integrated browser.
-
- - Redesigned "Update Links" option
- This option has been improved in several ways:
- - It's now called "Links Conversion (for Offline browsing)"
- - It has a new setting "Convert ALL links". Previously only downloaded links
- can be converted.
-
- - FREE version gives you 14 days access to Premium Options available in
- Registered version of WebCopier.
-
-
- WebCopier 2.2 Premium features:
- ===============================
-
- These features are available only in the REGISTERED version of WebCopier.
- FREE version gives 14 days access to these options.
-
- - List of URLs
- Now in one project you can specify a list of URLs, not just one as before, as
- the download starting address ("Project Settings / General" window).
-
- - Download only selected site branch
- You can use the Contents Tree to download only one its branch instead of whole
- site. Select the starting node of the branch, press right mouse button, and
- click on the "Download only this Branch" menu.
-
- - Download Report
- The program can generate detailed report about a download ("Project Settings /
- Advanced / Download" window).
-
- - File size restrictions can be set based on file extension
- WebCopier Free version allows to restrict download by Min. and Max. file size.
- The restriction is set for all files. The Registered version now allows
- ("Project Settings / Advanced / File Filters" window) to set different limits
- for different file types (for example, HTML, Image, Audio), and even file
- extensions inside the same file group (for example, *.gif and *.jpg can have
- different size limits).
-
- - The program can run in System tray
- This option can be set in the "WebCopier / Options / Advanced" window.
-
